New York Magazine Names La Finca Top Destination in Central Virginia

Get a taste of South America at the recently opened La Finca Grill in Orange, where Bolivian and Peruvian dishes meet American flavors. Don’t be put off by the strip-mall setting: Inside, La Finca is warm and inviting, with Spanish details like terra-cotta roof tiles and South American textiles. Munch on Peruvian ceviche with hominy ($15) and arroz chaufa con camerones ($12), Peru’s version of fried rice with shrimp, served here with a vibrant green-herb sauce. Save room for the delicious tres leches cake ($6).

New Latin-American restaurant opens in Orange

The Free Lance-Star (Fredericksburg, VA) – October 7, 2015

La Finca Family Grill and Restaurant has opened at 12399 James Madison Highway in Orange.

The restaurant, whose name means The Farm, serves farm-to-table Latin cuisine with a modern-American twist.

Menu items include Bolivian quesadillas, Peruvian chicken, Argentinean grilled steak and paella.

The manager, Carlos Aquin Avila, has worked at a number of other restaurants, including serving as manager of The Inn at Willow Grove near Orange. Chef Austin Robbins’ background includes working at Keswick Hall in Albemarle County, and opening Bella’s and Citizen Burger Bar, both in Charlottesville.
